PrinTribe Update
Following our recent announcement regarding the future of PrinTribe, we’re pleased to confirm that the platform will continue operating under new ownership.
We understand there were questions during this period of uncertainty, and we appreciate your patience and support. Below are answers to the most common questions.
Is PrinTribe still closing?
No. PrinTribe will continue operating, and the platform will remain available to artists and customers.
Can I continue using PrinTribe?
Yes. PrinTribe remains fully operational and artists and customers can continue using the platform as normal.
Can I still place orders?
Yes. Orders can continue to be placed through the platform as usual.
Will new and existing orders still be fulfilled?
Yes. All new, current and pending orders will continue to be processed and fulfilled through our normal production and delivery partners as normal.
Should I continue uploading new work?
Yes. Artists can continue creating, listing, and selling work as normal. We encourage you to continue using PrinTribe as part of your normal workflow.
Will there be any changes to the platform?
There are no immediate changes to how PrinTribe operates.
Under the new model, the platform will continue to evolve over time, and any updates or improvements will be communicated clearly in advance.
Will existing orders and agreements remain the same?
Yes. All existing orders and agreements remain unchanged.
What will happen to my data and artwork files?
Your account information and artwork files remain secure.
There are no changes to how your data is stored or managed.
Do I still retain ownership of my artwork on PrinTribe?
Yes. Artists always retain full ownership and control of their artwork.
PrinTribe simply provides the platform and production services to print, frame and deliver their work.

Can you tell me more about your business?
PrinTribe was created out of a desire to cater to the needs of the creative community who were looking for an all-inclusive, end-to-end solution for getting bespoke, ready-to-hang artwork to their customers at the click of a button. We want to empower Australian artists with the ability to offer their masterpieces beautifully framed and finished, meaning happier customers and higher-quality products with none of the hassles.
As fellow artists, you’ll be working with experts who understand the business. Our friendly, knowledgeable customer service team and incredibly high standards mean your artwork is in safe hands. We’re committed to providing precise timelines, affordable products, reliable delivery and quality assurance.
How does it all work?
Too many artists become overwhelmed by the logistics of selling their artwork fully-finished and ready-to-hang. PrinTribe is a simple, cost-effective, full-service solution that allows you to focus on the creative work you really care about, by taking care of the printing, framing and delivery of your art directly to your customer.
Getting your amazing art ready-to-hang and out to your customer is as easy as signing up for your free PrinTribe account, uploading your artwork or photography, selecting your printing and framing options, choosing your delivery method and clicking submit! And voila! In 7 working days, your art will be on its way to your customers.
What’s the difference between PrinTribe and other print-on-demand services already available in Australia?
PrinTribe’s print-on-demand portal is designed for artists and photographers who want to provide printing, framing and delivery of gallery-standard, ready-to-hang fine art directly to their customers. The level of customisation available to the artist within PrinTribe provides unmatched control over the finished product. By limiting our platform exclusively to artists and creators, we’re able to provide our customers with wholesale access to some of the best printers, framers and logistics partners in the business - and we can do it at a fraction of the price.
Are your prices wholesale rates?
Yes, our prices are wholesale. Our mission is to support you in bringing your finished, ready-to-hang fine art to the world. The price you charge for your artwork is up to you, and our pricing model reflects our commitment to delivering the best quality framing and logistics at prices that support your business.
Can I access prices without creating an account?
Pricing is available for approved customers on the PrinTribe portal. We do this to better protect and enable our customers’ freedom to manage and set their own pricing for the on-selling of their artwork. Creating an account is free and easy.
Why do I need an ABN to sign-up?
The tools PrinTribe provides are designed for creatives who are already selling their artwork as a business, or who are on the way to selling their artwork as a business or side-hustle. As we are a B2B company, an ABN is a requirement for billing purposes.
Do you integrate with any eCommerce platforms?
We are working on it. Watch this space, and please get in touch to let us know which platform you want us to integrate with!
Do you print photography?
Absolutely! We offer a range of premium, archival-quality papers and finishes perfect for showcasing photographic prints. Chat with our team for our recommendations.
Do you print digital art/illustration art?
Yes, we are a digital art platform and print all forms of digital art, digital illustration, and photography, as well as traditional painting and illustrative mediums. Our accepted file formats are JPG, TIF and PDF.
Can you scan my original artwork?
Yes. We can arrange scanning of your original artwork for Australian-residing artists. Contact our friendly Customer Service team to request our scanning services.
If you would prefer to handle this yourself, our recommendation is to source a high-resolution professional scanner with the expertise and capacity to scan original artworks to ensure that resolution requirements are met and that the digital file is set up correctly in order to deliver the highest-quality print prior to uploading to PrinTribe.
They will also ensure that your original artwork maintains its integrity and is accurately translated into digital format.
What size should my artwork file be?
If you’ve been working with print files for a while, I bet you have heard that your file needs to be a minimum of 300dpi. While this is true for some printing methods, and it is always best to supply a high-resolution file, the fact is that with giclee digital printing, you really only need to save your files at 150dpi. You will not lose any image quality at this size but will have a much smaller file size for storage and uploading.
We recommend you upload your files in the maximum size you intend to print, at 150dpi. The largest product we currently offer is a 200x200cm rolled canvas.
What if my file is too small or low resolution?
To give you peace of mind, it is good to know that if enlarging your image takes it below 150dpi, our system will generate a low-resolution warning for you. You can then decide if you would like to upload a higher-resolution image, or choose a smaller sized product to print. We want your work to look as amazing as you do, after all!
Can I upload my artwork via URL?
Artwork is easily uploaded from within the PrinTribe portal via drag-and-drop or by selecting files to upload directly from your computer or file storage. The ability to upload files via URL is currently in development.
Will the colours in my artwork be accurate?
Colour accuracy is dependent on the print file. We accept artwork files in both CMYK and RGB colour profiles. Artworks containing exceptionally vibrant hues, particularly in the green/blue spectrum, will deliver the most accurate colour representation if converted to CMYK before uploading.
Rest assured, our modern printers are fully maintained according to the manufacturer's schedule to obtain the most accurate colour representation as specified by your print file.
Are your frames made locally or overseas?
All our frames are proudly made in Australia. We love to keep things local and have teamed up with Australia’s best industry experts, including Guild-recognised framers, who specialise in creating finished products of an exceptionally high quality, matching our meticulous standards.
What hanging fixtures are used?
Our frames are equipped with robust hanging systems appropriate for each framing solution for beautifully balanced hanging on all supplied artwork sizes.
How can I be sure my artwork will arrive in good condition?
The logistics companies we work with have been carefully selected for their ability to provide the standard of care we demand for our clients’ artworks.
PrinTribe’s packaging is customised to the size of your final art product. Depending on the product, we use padded corner protections and bubble wrap to ensure a snug fit with minimum movement, so your artwork is well protected as it travels to your customer. Rolled prints are sent in sturdy packaging in a variety of formats to ensure the safe arrival of your artwork.
